Rhyolite Ghost Town is technically in Death Valley National Park, (but in the Nevada section..... a small part of the park is in Nevada with the bulk of it in California).
If you ever find yourself in Las Vegas, Nevada.....and you've got a day to spare, head west to Death Valley National Park. (about 2 hours away).....If you enter into the park via the Beatty, Nevada road.....you'll be barely 10 minutes away from this place.
Death Valley is the largest national park in the lower 48 states of America...and in my humble opinion, it's in the Top 5 for the most incredibly awe inspiring landscapes.
Rhyolite Ghost Town is a tiny outpost with no residents and just a working "bookstore" and it's located just to the left of the bike riding ghost in the picture.
The statues of Jesus and his disciples at the last supper, is part of the Goldwell Open Air Museum, and was first unveiled in 1984 by a group of Belgian artists.
Ps....the multicoloured sofa...….is actually made from oven burnt bricks...Don't be fooled by the picture, it wasn't comfortable at all.
